If You Want to Reach Your Goal, Change Your Perspective
Our goals are not just something in the future. They are also somewhere above us, somewhere to be reached. You don't get there by walking, you climb. Therefore, the best metaphor that describes the process of success is the stairs.
As Bernard Shaw said, "If there is no obstacle on the path you are walking, that path will not take you to any place." Therefore, we should be pleased whenever we face an obstacle or problem. Because the things that stand between us and our goal are not really obstacles but steps that take us to our goal. We need them more than we think in order to reach our goal.

In fact, everything has a neutral value. It is us who give them meaning. We define events the way we want to see them. From this perspective, something is neither good nor bad. It is our point of view that defines if it is good or bad.
Probably a little strange will this mindset sound, but trying to look on various difficulties or problems in reverse and from different points of view, we can see there that they give us a solution to reach what is desired.
Of course, there is no doubt that we have to put in a lot of effort to reach our goal. However, for our efforts to be effective and take us to our goal, we need not only hard work but also a different structure of consciousness. First of all, we have to be aware that we are the protagonists of our lives.
Hero Consciousness and Victim Consciousness
We can define two consciousness structures as hero and victim consciousness. These are two worldviews with opposing characteristics. This creates differences in thinking and behavior regarding nearly every subject. Especially in terms of how they perceive the problems, there is a complete difference between them as black and white. Depending upon which one we possess, the results that we get from our lives change.
While the Hero consciousness considers problems to be stairs and opportunities which take them up, the Victim Consciousness regards the obstacles in their life path as disturbing objects and try to get rid of them. Moreover, they blame those barriers when referring to their failures. There is always someone or something to blame when it is about victims. Heroes, on the contrary, consider problems the only tool for development. From the problems they learn something, correct the mistakes, and manage to get better owing to that.
So, how do they do it? First of all, by adopting a positive attitude and especially by asking themselves strong questions. For example, once they are in front of a difficulty and obstacle, they ask themselves the following:
What can I learn from this problem?
And more importantly, how can I use it to progress toward my goal?
This way, they can set their minds on solutions. Therefore, in order to reach our aim, we have to learn to convert all the problems we face into opportunities, all obstacles into steps, and all the challenges we face into unique gifts. While we act with this consciousness, we will have a stronger motivation, and it will be much more possible to reach our goal.
